Project Manager
Job Description:
LFA is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join any of our fast-growing engineering practices in El Segundo, Irvine or Pasadena, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, prepare, and respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Qualifications (RFQs), and other client solicitations.
- Overall responsibility for management of multiple projects.
- Development of structural engineering systems with Principal-in-Charge.
- Primary interface with clients on project specific issues.
- Directly responsible for the technical content and quality control of specific projects, as established with Principal-in-Charge.
- Establish project fees, budgets, and scheduling commitments with Principal-in-Charge.
- Track project cost and timing to ensure fulfillment of contract commitments and profitability.
- Identify areas not in contact scope of work and formulates proposals for additional services.
- Report directly to Principal-in-Charge.
- Assumes functions of Project Engineer if required/needed.
Requirements:
- B.S in Civil Engineering/ Architectural Engineering/Structural Engineering.
- Requires S.E license with 10+ years total experience, or in select circumstances, a P.E license with 3-10 years of being responsible and in charge of projects.
Proposal Coordinator
Job Description:
LFA is looking for an experienced Propsal Coordinator to support the business development and marketing team by assisting in development and production of high-qulity proposals, qualification packages, and other marketing materials for Structural, Shoring, Civil and EBM engineering pursuits.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, prepare, and produce responses to Request for Propsals (RFPs), Request for Qualifications (RFQs), and other client solicitations .
- Develop compliant, persuasive, and visually engaging proposals that align with client requirements and firm branding.
- Collaborate with project managers, technical staff, and subject matter experts to gather content, project data, and resumes.
- Write, edit, and proofread proposal sections, including executive summaries, project descriptions, team member resumes, and cover letters.
- Manage proposal schedules, outlines, compliance matrices, and production deadlines to ensure timely delivery.
- Assist in developing presentations, interview materials, and other client-facing documents..
- Track opportunities, submissions, and outcomes in CRM or proposal management software.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of proposal coordination or marketing experience in the A/E/C industry preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to juggle multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign preferred). Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM/proposal databases.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical professionals and senior leaders.
- Familiarity with industry procurement process (public and private sector) a plus.
Senior Project Engineer
Job Description:
LFA is looking for a senior project engineer to join any of our fast-growing engineering practices in El Segundo, Irvine, Pasadena, or San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare calculations, sketches and coordinates drafting under the supervision of the Principal-in-Charge.
- Perform construction services under the supervision of the Principal-in-Charge.
- Interface with clients on multiple projects under supervision of Principal-in-Charge.
- Supervise/coordinate with other engineers and drafters.
- Establish technical content and quality control in conjunction with the Principal-in-Charge.
- Function as a Project Manager on some projects and reports to Principal-in-Charge.
- Function as Project Engineer on some projects under the direction of a Project Manager or Principal.
Requirements:
- B.S. Civil or MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Requires P.E. license with 5-15 years total experience. May have S.E. license.
Structural Project Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Prepare calculations, sketches and coordinate drafting under the supervision of the Project Manager.
- Perform construction administration services under the supervision of the Project Manager.
- Interface with clients on project specific issues.
- Supervise/coordinate with other engineers and drafters.
- Responsible for technical content and quality control as set by the Project Manager.
- Function as a Project Manager on some projects and reports to Principal-in-Charge.
- Reports to the Project Manager on specific projects.
Requirements:
- P.E. licensure is required.
Civil Project Manager

Responsibilities:
The position will assist with grading, hydrology and hydraulic studies and analysis, utility design and studies, as well as drainage and storm water treatment design on private, commercial, institutional, and residential land development projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- P.E. preferred/ EIT required.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in civil land development design.
- Ability to effectively assist and manage young engineers on various engineering tasks and designs.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Ability to design, assist, and manage land development projects from concept through closeout.
- Design experience with site development projects that include grading, drainage, utilities, site layout, due diligence and permitting.

Civil Project Engineer III
Job Description:
LFA is looking for an experienced civil project engineer to join our fast-growing civil engineering practice in El Segundo or Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of similar experience.
Responsibilities:
The position will assist with grading, hydrology and hydraulic studies and analysis, utility design and studies, as well as drainage and storm water treatment design on private, commercial, institutional, and residential land development projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- EIT preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in civil land development design including plan production, utility design and analysis, hydrology and hydraulic analysis, storm water quality design, etc.
- Experience with the permitting process with local jurisdictions in the LA and Orange County area.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Ability to develop civil engineering plans and perform engineering calculations as required for the permitting of the civil engineering scope.
- Design experience with site development projects that includes grading, drainage, utilities, site layout, due diligence and permitting.

Project Engineer I (Civil)
Project Engineer I (Civil): Under the supervision of the Principal, design the structure of residential and commercial buildings, including single family residences and multi-family, mixed-use, and commercial projects. Consult with other engineers on project objectives, design specifications, project details, and other project-specific issues and work with other engineers and drafters to draft designs for new buildings as well as renovations and seismic strengthening for existing buildings. Prepare sketches, drawings, and 3D modeling using AutoCAD and Revit and prepare calculations and design specifications using software including ETABS, Safe, SAP, Enercalc, and Adapt. Draft structural design documents. Submit structural designs to senior engineers for review to ensure compliance with engineering plans, specifications, quality control standards, and regulatory standards. Assist in conducting site inspections and perform construction administration services under the supervision of the Principal and senior engineers. Stay abreast of the latest technological advances, building codes, and industry trends.

Project Engineer II (Civil): Lead and oversee the design of the structure of residential and commercial buildings, including single family residences and multi-family, mixed-use, and commercial projects. Review project proposals, plans, engineering drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and design specifications. Confer with Principal to recommend design improvements and adjustments where necessary using technologies such as Safe, SAP, Enercalc, and Adapt. Lead the project engineering team throughout project phases. Prepare review sketches, drawings, 3D modeling, and consult Principal in making necessary revisions to design documents. Review project calculations and design specifications. Complete building analysis using 3D structural analysis and design software. Review cost analysis and compliance with engineering plans, specifications, quality control standards, and regulatory standards. Conduct site inspections and perform construction administration services. Prepare quality assurance and inspection reports, and recommend changes to plans and further action to the Principal. Field Engineer
Job Description:
LFA is looking for an experienced project engineer to join any of our fast-growing engineering practices in El Segundo, Irvine, Pasadena, or San Diego, CA. The position will be a mixture of design work as well as structural observations.
Responsibilities:
- Drive to LFA project sites and provide structural observations and site visits.
- Communicate and coordinate with the project manager about project and specifics.
- Schedule observations and site visits with general contractors.
- Take photos of performed work and reports back to the project engineer and project manager after each observation.
- Prepare itinerary to improve efficiency and for best use of driving time.
Requirements:
- Able to read structural and architectural plans.
- P.E. licensure is required.
Design Engineer

Job:
LFA is looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to provide comprehensive support to 2 Managing Principals in El Segundo, CA.
Responsibilities:
Executive Support (Primarily CEO, with Partner Support as needed):
- Manage and maintain the CEO's complex calendar, scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
- Prepare and organize documents, presentations, and reports.
- Track personal appointments and events for the CEO.
- Provide administrative support to the partner as required.
