David Funk, S.E.
Principal

David joined LFA as a principal in 2011, bringing expertise in adaptive reuse and commercial projects, as well as multifamily and mixed-use developments. With over 23 years of engineering experience, David treats client’s projects with focused care and attention to detail. He is responsible for structural concepts and design, mentoring, and technical leadership in the firm.

David is a member of the SEAOSC and won a 2008 Excellence in Structural Engineering Award. He is also the coauthor for the ICC Published design guides #1 and #2 for the City of Los Angeles Mandatory Non-Ductile Concrete and Soft Story Retrofit Ordinances.

Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his family. He is an avid golfer, and his hobbies include coaching tee ball, skiing and snowboarding. Although new to endurance sports, he has developed a passion for triathlons.
