John Labib, S.E.
Principal
John Labib, S.E. graduated with a Master’s Degree from the University of California Berkeley, one of the most prestigious Structural Engineering programs with an emphasis on earthquake engineering. His impeccable personal commitment to his clients and successes on high profile projects, such as the seismic retrofit of UCLA Kaufman Hall, Getty Villa in Malibu, and Dodgers Stadium, allowed him to pursue ambitions of starting his own firm. Thus, Labib Funk & Associates (LFA) was born.
Due to the commitment of its partners, LFA has sustained steady growth and is recognized as one of the premier structural engineering design firms in Southern California. As Managing Principal, John maintains oversight responsibility and insists on the highest levels of service for his clients.
Most recently during the summer of 2018, John was the commencement speaker for the UC Irvine School of Engineering. He has been awarded the Lauds & Laurels Distinguished Alumnus Award in Engineering from UC Irvine, as well as being inducted into the inaugural Samueli School of Engineering Hall of Fame. John continues to enjoy engineering today for the very same reasons as when he first started; the challenge of creative problem solving and service to LFA’s clients.
