The Midfield Satellite Concourse (MSC) South project at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is a key component of LAWA’s ambitious multi-billion-dollar Capital Improvement Program. Extending the West Gates of the Tom Bradley International Terminal, this 150,000 SF facility will add approximately eight new aircraft gates, with the design taking inspiration from California modernism.
In a groundbreaking approach, MSC South employs an innovative Offsite Construction and Relocation (OCR) technique. This method involves constructing the concourse in nine modular segments approximately 1.5 miles from the project site, then meticulously transporting and assembling them in place.
MSC South is slated for completion in 2025, with plans for LEED Silver certification underway.
